Cloud Computes Now Available in Hong Kong

Following up on our announcement that all Hong Kong shared, reseller, and semi-dedicated services were moved to the cloud we are excited to announce the launch of cloud computes in Hong Kong! Cloud computes are your own private server environment with full root access, giving you the ability to install any software and configure the service at the OS level without restrictions.

A cloud compute is like a VPS in that it’s your own private server and not shared with any other users. You have full control over the environment enabling you to install software and enable features that may not otherwise be available in a traditional shared hosting environment. Cloud computes can be used for any applications ranging from hosting sites, creating a VPN, a development sandbox, or any software that requires root level access in a Linux environment to run properly.

Our cloud computes are commonly used for clients who have outgrown shared hosting or wish to have more control over their environment. We offer both cPanel/WHM and DirectAdmin as control panel options which make it easy even for an inexperienced webmaster to run their own hosting server on the compute. However cPanel/WHM and DirectAdmin aren’t your only options as your full root access means you can install any Linux based panel you’d like.

The cloud computes give clients their choice of operating system as well, including:

• CentOS 7 and 8
• Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 LTS
• Debian 9 and 10
• Fedora 31 and 32
• CloudLinux

In short CloudLinux is best for cloud compute users who are hosting clients or hosting their own high resource sites and want a way to ensure one site/cPanel account does not impact the performance of the entire compute. It also creates a more secure hosting environment through its use of CageFS isolation features.

All Hong Kong computes are hosted in our fully redundant (both hardware and network level) high performance cloud infrastructure. We use an SSD powered Storpool storage backend for extremely low latency disk reads/writes with the latest generation Intel or AMD processors and multiple terabytes of available RAM. Due to the built in redundancy of the cloud infrastructure any hardware failures result in automatic service migration to a new node, resulting in virtually no downtime for your cloud compute.

The cloud computes start at just $5.00/mo for 1CPU, 1GB RAM, 20GB SSD Disk, and 1TB of bandwidth. We offer plans ranging all the way up to 6 CPUs, 16GB RAM, 200GB SSD Disk, and 5TB of bandwidth. As your resource needs grow you can scale up your compute at any time to ensure continued top performance for your sites and applications.
