Hawk Host Always Turbo Hosting

We have inquiries from time to time about whether we offer turbo hosting or another similar nomenclature hosting. The active marketing of turbo hosting typically revolves around faster CPUs, NVMe’s, automatic caching installation, automatic plugin updates, and high uptime. We offer all the features at Hawk Host free of charge with all our hosting plans, no matter the price you pay.

We’ve discussed briefly the essential features typically associated with turbo or high-performance hosting, but we haven’t explained how that happens at Hawk Host.

High Performance CPUs

At Hawk Host, we’re constantly looking at newer CPUs to provide better single-threaded performance. We’re also looking at their all-core turbo capability. All-core turbo means that the CPUs may be advertised as 2.4ghz, but they are capable of potentially 25% or faster frequency if adequate cooling is available. We ensure sufficient cooling to allow 24/7 all-core turbo operation 365 days a year.

As of today (April 29, 2025) we’re using the following CPUs in production:

High Performance NVMe Drives

We have operated Storpool across all our locations, providing exceptional reliability due to its 3x replicated data across three servers and performance far exceeding typical environments with such high reliability. We’re able to achieve over 200,000 IOPS and speeds exceeding 2GB/sec combined read/write for each of our servers. The speeds seen are well into the NVMe territory thanks to our use of Samsung, Micron, and Intel NVMe drives.

Automatic Caching Installation

All our cPanel shared, reseller and semi-dedicated servers automatically look for WordPress installations that may not have optimal performance. If they’re found not to have page caching enabled and there are no incompatibilities, we automatically enable and configure Litespeed page caching. If you don’t want any caching, we also make it easy to disable it straight through cPanel, or optionally, it can be accomplished using WordPress directly.

Plugin Updates

We provide Softaculous within the cPanel of all our servers to make it easy to install various applications, including WordPress. Under advanced options, Softaculous allows you to upgrade WordPress plugins and themes automatically. With one simple click, you’ll never need to worry about your plugins being out of date again. Alternatively, if you’re not using Softaculous, then WordPress can also update all your plugins and themes. Hawk Host is providing both options without having to pay extra.

High Uptime

We guarantee 99.9% uptime; however, our use of our cloud infrastructure and Storpool far exceeds the 99.9% uptime metric. Our cloud infrastructure allows us to do hardware maintenance without impact by seamlessly moving our servers. We can handle NVMe drive failures with only a slight decrease in performance while data is re-replicated. Even with complete hardware failures, the downtime can be measured in minutes rather than hours compared to traditional web hosts relying on single server infrastructure.
