We’re happy to announce that we’re now offering exclusive discounts when you bundle CloudLinux and Imunify360. Our prices are significantly lower than retail, making both products exceptionally affordable and worth adding to your virtual private server or cloud compute. You can now get the power of CloudLinux and the security of Imunify360 without breaking the bank.
CloudLinux and Imunify360 are staples of our shared hosting, reseller hosting, and semi-dedicated hosting products. We recently reintroduced both CloudLinux and Imunify360 as add-ons with our cloud compute product. We’re happy to announce that we are now offering a bundle where you can get CloudLinux and Imunify360 for 5 users for just $8/month extra. You’ll need to go over to our exclusive CloudLinux Virtual Private Server page to place an order. If you currently have a cloud compute without CloudLinux and Imunify360 and are interested in switching, contact our sales team, and we’ll work on changing your server. CloudLinux is typically associated with restricting resources, but it has many advantages you may be interested in, even if you have just five user accounts on your virtual private server.
CloudLinux is best known for its lightweight virtual environment (LVE), which allows you to limit the CPU, memory, disk i/o, and number of processes a single account on a server can use. Even with just five accounts, one account could bring down a server. With CloudLinux LVE, however, you can limit usage to prevent such stability problems.
CageFS provides a virtualized per-user file system that prevents other accounts from seeing each other. It prevents a variety of attacks, such as privilege escalation and information disclosures. You can rest assured that if one account on your cloud compute is hacked, it will not be utilized to infect others by reading or changing files of other accounts.
CageFS is an excellent first line of defense against common symbolic link attacks. However, it cannot protect under scenarios where CageFS is not in use, such as in cPanel, the cPanel file manager, and the WebDAV server. The CloudLinux SecureLink feature is a kernel-level technology that prevents malicious users from creating symlinks and hardlinks to files that they don’t own.
cPanel and many other control panels do not support end-of-life PHP versions, such as PHP 7.4. With CloudLinux, however, you can continue to run as low as PHP 4.4 and be assured that they are continuing to provide security updates to the unsupported PHP version. Even if you’re running currently supported versions of PHP, the PHP selector system expands on a typical shared environment. You can now run different PHP versions and extensions on each account. If you have one account requiring an extension like Phalcon, while others you do not want to run it, that is not an issue with CloudLinux’s PHP selector.
CloudLinux supports the operation of Node.js, Ruby, and Python applications without requiring its own virtual private server. Similar to the PHP selector, all three Node.js, Ruby, and Python allow you to select a variety of versions. You can operate older versions or the bleeding edge with a simple click of a button.
mod_lsapi is a drop-in replacement for FastCGI, RUID2, and PHP FPM while continuing to support .htaccess file directives. It is the fastest way to serve PHP with Apache without the stability issues of process management of other common high-performance methods, such as PHP FPM and mod_fcgid. The mod_lsapi extension requires absolutely no tuning and is completely compatible with the CloudLinux PHP selector, making it the ideal choice for ease of use and high performance.
I am touching on a few of the most common features. CloudLinux, however, has many others, like the PHP X-Ray to help identify PHP slowdowns and AccelerateWP, its own WordPress acceleration feature. CloudLinux is also continually releasing new features. They currently have MAx Web Server on their roadmap, which allows you to switch to the high-performing Nginx web server while maintaining Apache compatibility.
Imunify360 contains a network firewall powered by a global threat intelligence network. Attacks against other servers within their global network will block the offending IP across the overall global network. Today, you may think of this as an AI protecting your virtual private server from bad actors on the internet.
Imunify360 inspects all incoming traffic and blocks common web application attacks, such as cross-site scripting, SQL injections, and illegal resource access. It also provides virtual patches for common applications, such as WordPress, to block known exploits found in unupdated WordPress plugins. Imunify360 accomplishes all this while continually providing rulesets and virtual patches to protect your server.
In addition to the web application firewall, Imunify360 operates what they call the webshield. This lightweight application sits in front of your web server to detect malicious traffic, including botnet attacks and denial-of-service attacks. The Imunify360 WebShield utilizes invisible JavaScript challenges to block automated bots while letting legitimate users pass through effectively. It effectively blocks malicious traffic while not frustrating human visitors with traditional CAPTCHAs, which are traditionally used to prevent brute-force login attempts on applications.
Imunify360 includes a comprehensive scanner that can scan all server files for malware, backdoors, and other threats in real time and on demand. It also consists of a database scanner for popular applications such as WordPress and Joomla to identify malware within the database. Unlike most scanners, however, Imunify360 attempts to first clean only the malware rather than quarantine entire files. Finding malware, however, is the worst-case scenario, so Imunify360 also employs a proactive defense for PHP. All PHP execution goes through their evaluation engine, which identifies malicious behavior before it infects your files. Imunify360’s proactive system can identify zero-day attacks and brand new or previously unknown threats that traditional scanners would typically miss.
It may appear at a glance that Imunify360 is aimed at strictly protecting websites. However, it is a complete solution that includes an intrusion detection and prevention system. Imunify360 scans logs for failed login attempts, identifies brute force attacks and exploit attempts, and proactively blocks the offending IP address. It protects all server services, including email (Incoming and Outgoing), FTP, and SSH.
CloudLinux and Imunify360 continually add new features and improvements, but they still have significant value today. With our new CloudLinux and Imunify360 bundle, it will be easier to justify adding them to your cloud compute with Hawk Host.
