Introducing Brazil Pix and Mexico OXXO Payment Methods

Over the past year, we’ve been introducing a variety of local payment methods in Asia. We completely understand that Asia is not the only place with preferred local payment methods. We’re happy to announce we now also offer local methods in Brazil and Mexico.

If you’re in Brazil, we now offer the option to pay us via Pix; if you’re in Mexico, you can pay us via OXXO. These new payment methods are available to all customers for all of our shared, reseller or cloud vps hosting. Likewise, if you’re in the market for a domain, all domain registrations and renewals are eligible for all new payment methods.

Pix

Brazil’s Pix is used by the majority of individuals located in Brazil. It currently accounts for over 40% of all online transactions and is expected to exceed 50% in the next few years. Pix works like several local payment methods, which is as simple as scanning a QR code on a mobile device. After scanning the QR code, you typically complete payment using your banking app. Pix payments are secure and immediate, similar to other QR code / bank payment methods.

OXXO

OXXO is a popular voucher-based cash payment method in Mexico. It lets you make payments for line services without a credit card or even a bank account. In Mexico, a large portion of the country still operates predominantly in cash, which is what makes the OXXO voucher system so popular. To pay Hawk Host using OXXO, you’ll receive the same voucher you’re used to and can take it to your local OXXO to make a payment. Hawk Host will receive the funds within a few days, at which point the invoice will be marked paid.
