cPanel Two Factor Authentication Now Available

We’re happy to announce that all our servers now support the ability to utilize two-factor authentication within cPanel.  Two factor authentication (2FA) adds an additional level of security where in not only your password is required but an additional code typically retrieved from another device such as a phone.

Two factor in your cPanel is completely optional and is by no means required.  If you however have a phone with you at all times it can be quickly setup.  This means if someone were to ever retrieve your password they would still be unable to login to your cPanel.  To set it up all you need to do is login to cPanel go to the security category then Two-Factor Authentication:


Here you will be advised you’ll need a smartphone and and time based one time password (TOTP) app.  A few examples of these would be

Then using your preferred app you’ll scan the QR code in and provide the security code that is generated by your two-factor authentication application.  Now the next time you login to cPanel you’ll provide your username and password as per usual then be asked for your security code:
