How do I submit a DMCA complaint?

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a United States copyright law that addresses copyright infringement on the Internet. In order for us to take action on a copyright violation, you must file a notice of infringement that complies with the DMCA.

To file a notice, send an email to abuse@hawkhost.com with the following information:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work — Describe the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed. Include the URL of the original work or a direct reference to it.

  2. Identification of the infringing material — Provide the specific URL(s) or location of the material you claim is infringing. Reference specific pages or posts, not entire websites.

  3. Your contact information — Include your name and email address so we can follow up with you.

  4. Good faith statement — Include the following:

“I have a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted materials described above as allegedly infringing is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”

  5. Perjury statement — Include the following:

“I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”

  6. Your signature — Provide your full legal name as a signature.

Important: You may be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys’ fees) if you materially misrepresent that material is infringing your copyrights.
