Optimize Website Feature in cPanel

The “Optimize Website” feature that is commonly available on other cPanel-based hosts is not available on Hawk Host’s services. This is because our web server (LiteSpeed) automatically compresses and gzips content when possible. Other web hosts may require you to manually enable compression through cPanel due to utilizing Apache’s mod_deflate module, which LiteSpeed handles at the server level.

LiteSpeed Web Server handles gzip/Brotli compression at the server level, which means there is no need to manually enable compression through cPanel. This automatic compression applies to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other text-based content types.

Verifying Compression Is Enabled

You can confirm that gzip compression is active on your site by:

  • Checking the response headers in your browser’s developer tools (look for Content-Encoding: gzip or Content-Encoding: br)
  • Submitting a support ticket and asking our team to confirm
