Why is my credit card being declined?
There are several reasons your credit card may be declined by our billing system:
-
Foreign transaction block — Hawk Host is based in Canada. Many US and international banks automatically decline charges from foreign countries. You may need to authorize the transaction with your bank.
-
Address mismatch — The billing address on your client area profile must match the billing address on your credit card. We perform address verification on all credit card transactions.
-
Invoice total too low — Invoices under $2.00 USD are automatically declined for credit card payments.
-
Browser extensions blocking scripts — Our billing system requires JavaScript. Extensions like NoScript may prevent the payment from processing. Try using an incognito/private browsing session or temporarily disable script-blocking extensions.
What to do
Section titled “What to do”- Contact your bank or card issuer first to verify they are not blocking the charge.
- If the issue persists, contact our billing department and include the last 4 digits of the card(s) you’ve tried, along with the cardholder’s last name.
