Why is there an SSH key in my cloud servers authorized_keys file?
The existing SSH key in your cloud vps’s authorized_keys file is a Hawk Host internal key. This key is used for several purposes:
- Immediate plan upgrades and downgrades
- Assigning additional IP addresses
- Upgrading or downgrading system resources
- Logging in to your server to provide support when requested
Can I remove it?
Section titled “Can I remove it?”You can safely remove this key if you choose. However, please note that doing so may prevent some cloud vps management features from functioning properly, including automated resource changes and support access.
If you remove the key and later need support that requires server access, you may need to re-add it or provide alternative access to our team.
