How do I disable two-factor authentication (2FA) for cPanel?

If you have lost your 2FA device, refer to I’ve lost my two-factor authentication device instead.

If you still have access to your authenticator device and want to disable 2FA for cPanel:

  1. Log in to cPanel and search for Two-Factor Authentication.

  2. Click Remove Two-Factor Authentication.

  3. When prompted “Are you sure you want to remove two-factor authentication from your account?”, click Remove.

  4. Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator device and click Proceed.

  5. Two-factor authentication is now disabled on your cPanel account.
