Optimize Website Feature in cPanel

The “Optimize Website” feature that is commonly available on other cPanel-based hosts is not available on Hawk Host’s services. This is because our web server (LiteSpeed) automatically compresses and gzips content when possible.

LiteSpeed Web Server handles gzip/Brotli compression at the server level, which means there is no need to manually enable compression through cPanel. This automatic compression applies to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other text-based content types.

Verifying Compression Is Enabled

You can confirm that gzip compression is active on your site by:

  • Checking the response headers in your browser’s developer tools (look for Content-Encoding: gzip or Content-Encoding: br)
  • Using an online tool such as GIDNetwork’s gzip test
  • Submitting a support ticket and asking our team to confirm
