I've Changed My Nameservers, but My Site Is Still Down
When you change your nameservers to ours after signing up for a shared hosting account, there needs to be time for DNS propagation. While you may see the site as down, it is likely that your ISP has not updated their DNS cache yet. This process can take anywhere from 2 to 24 hours.
How to Verify Your Site Is Working
Section titled “How to Verify Your Site Is Working”You can confirm that your site is working even before DNS propagation completes:
- Test from a different network or ISP — Try accessing your site from a mobile device on cellular data or ask someone on a different network to check.
- Use your temporary hostname — Use the temporary hostname and URL provided in your welcome email to access your site directly on the server. See Temporary Domains for more information.
- Edit your hosts file — You can temporarily point your domain to the server’s IP address on your local computer. See How to edit your hosts file for instructions.
