Why does my servers SWAP show at 100%
Our shared, reseller, and semi-dedicated hosting plans run on CloudLinux, which uses a SWAP partition for memory (RAM) management. When a portion of memory has been idle for an extended period, the operating system moves it to SWAP so that additional RAM can be used for the I/O cache. This is normal behavior used by most modern operating systems and will occur even when the system has available unused RAM.
Is this a problem?
Section titled “Is this a problem?”No. You can safely disregard the SWAP usage displayed in cPanel/WHM. This behavior is by design and has no impact on your individual account or website performance.
cPanel displays a warning about SWAP usage, but this is a cosmetic alert that doesn’t reflect an actual problem on CloudLinux-based servers.
