Do you restore real visitor IP when using Cloudflare or other CDN?
Cloudflare and many other content delivery networks or proxy systems that hide your IP address pass along the user’s real IP address within the request. All Hawk Host web hosting servers, including shared, reseller, high-performance, and semi-dedicated, restore the real user IP address.

- Access logs show the actual visitor IP addresses
- Security measures (like rate limiting and firewall rules) work correctly
- Analytics and statistics reflect real user data
- Applications that rely on IP-based functionality continue to work as expected
No additional configuration is required from your side.
Technical Implementation
Section titled “Technical Implementation”As all Hawk Host servers use LiteSpeed, IP restoration is handled by its own implementation. On other web servers, it may also be referred to as mod_remoteip or mod_cloudflare. The end result is still the same, where the real user IP will be provided.
Missing Real Visitor IPs
Section titled “Missing Real Visitor IPs”If you are using a CDN or proxy service other than Cloudflare and we’re not restoring all visitor IPs, please contact our support team. Hawk Host makes a best effort to support as many as possible; there may be cases where certain IPs are missing due to out-of-date information or changed APIs for that specific service.
